This Saturday, we drove up to Los Angeles to meet our friends from Texas, Dan, Kerstin, and Kaitlin Cozart, at the Star Wars Celebration IV convention. It took 3 hours to get to the convention, but an hour of that time was spent on the last 20 miles or so! LA's population is about three times that of San Diego, putting it at a little over 3 million. LA may be the land of the movie stars, but we greatly prefer San Diego! The convention was fun--they had all kinds of displays and a few shows. We went to a comedy called Star Wars in 30. It was the original three movies rolled into 30 minutes. It was a riot. We even got to sit on the front row because I'm pregnant. Probably my favorite part was all the costumes. Some of them looked (to me) like they came right out of the movie! The Cozarts' costumes were great because Kerstin is such a proficient seamstress. In the picture with Jered, the wookie, and me, you can see Jered "speaking wookie." After we left the convention, we drove down to the historic part of LA and had Mexican food. The restuarant had a great atmosphere and tasty food. We had a great time catching up with our friends.
