Will smiled at me for the first time yesterday! He's smiled before when mimicking our faces or when sleeping, but yesterday he looked right at me after he finished eating and a big open-mouthed grin lit up his face--twice! It was very exciting, especially when he did it again this morning. I went to his crib to get him up this morning, and he was already awake. When he saw me, he smiled really big. He has the cutest grin. I haven't been able to capture these first social smiles very well on camera yet, but at least Jered got to see it when Will smiled at him this morning too! We are very excited about this milestone
and can't wait until he's smiling all the time.
He has also been holding his head up for extended periods of time, especially when he's up on someone's shoulder. We went to the doctor on Thursday evening and they gave me antibiotics for my infection, which is doing better. Since we were there, we sneaked Will onto the scale. It wasn't an infant scale, so not completely accurate, but it weighed him at over 11 lbs! We measured him at home today at 22.5 inches. He's definitely growing. Our little newborn is transitioning into a cute baby!
