This was a very special week because my sister Abby came to visit Wednesday through Sunday. We enjoyed being tourists together and also just hanging around the house watching movies and making cheesecake and brownies! On Saturday, we went to the San Diego Zoo. They have a bus system that has five pick up and drop off sites around the zoo. We hopped on the top of a double decker bus for a general tour, then took an express bus after lunch to see specific displays.

One of the highlights of the zoo was the peacocks that parade near the entrance and exit. They seemed to revel in all the attention as throngs of visitors snapped their photos. We saw four or five male peacocks--two of them were displaying their finery on top of buildings! 
After we left the zoo, we went to North Island and Jered showed Abby where he works and we took pictures of the skyline of San Diego--at least we did until the base security came by and told us that you are not allowed to take pictures on any part of the base--whooops!
Then we went to the downtown area of the island and took pictures at the beach near Hotel del Coronado before eating supper at a nearby pizzeria. We had a great time and are very thankful that Abby could come 
and see us so soon after we moved out here!
