We celebrated Will's 2nd birthday this weekend. His actual birthday was Friday, but we had a little party for him at Chuck E Cheese's on Saturday afternoon. Abby flew in on Thursday afternoon and stayed through Sunday after church. Thursday, we recieved the train table we had order for Will and put it together for him! He was super excited. After Abby flew in, we went shopping and got Will presents as requested from Grandpa Bill & Gram E, and Abby. When we got home, I made a yummy ham dinner with Abby's help (so nice to have help in the kitchen!). That evening, when Jered got home from work (he worked late), Abby and I went to a late showing of Harry Potter. It was really fun to have a girl night. Friday, we had a little "LAN" party and played our game (yes, we know we are nerdy and not ashamed!). We did a late night burger run afterwards and watched the new episodes of Monk and Psych - great fun again! Saturday we enjoyed another late brunch of spinach and bacon quiche and lazed around until we went to Chuck E Cheese's at 4:30. Our friends the Strouses met us there and their girls, Hannah and Hailey (a.ka. Nana and Baby as Will calls them), played with Will and shared pizza and cake. We had a great time and we're so glad they came. I had planned to not plan a party, and I'm grateful that we could still have Will's best friends celebrate his birthday with him. Will was also very happy about turning 2 because he gets to be in the 2-3's Sunday school class now with Hannah instead of the nursery. He loves Sunday school!
One of the reasons we did not want to have to plan a party this year - we found out last week that our land lord will be selling the house we're renting before the end of the year, so we've been running around this last week cleaning and packing some things up. The realtor is coming on Monday to talk to us and take pictures of the house. Our lease runs through Dec. 1, so we have a couple of months to look, but it is still upsetting and a little nerve-wracking. We have been living in this house for about 2.5 yrs, so we've gotten pretty comfy. Most likely, we are up to move from San Diego in Feb. 2011, so we will have to move again about a year after this move, so that's disconcerting too, but we'll get through. For better or worse, that's the military life. We'd appreciate your prayers in this area though.
