5th Wedding Anniversary & 9 Months Old

We are having such an eventful week here at the Hanschen house. Wednesday Will was 9 months old, Friday was our 5th wedding anniversary, and of course tomorrow, Sunday, is Mother's Day! Last night we went out (alone!) to a mystery dinner theater to celebrate our anniversary. It was a rousing performance with some great improv comedy thrown in. They served a four course meal including steak and chocolate mousse cake. They also announced our anniversary during one of the interludes in the performance. The Henslers, friends from church, baby sat for us. We actually put Will to bed before we left at 7:15pm, so in reality they did more dog-sitting than baby watching :) We are very grateful for the chance to spend some time alone away from home.

Will is doing some new things--including copycatting words. For example, talking to Grandma Hanschen recently, we figured out that his new word "Bop!" is probably "Stop!" which he hears me tell the dogs a lot--especially Max, who is always trying to lick Will's face. He loves motoring around and pulling himself up on furniture, toys and people. He's also loves chasing the dogs and following us around the house.

In the last month, Will also adopted a "regular person" eating schedule. We only nurse 3 times a day now--before breakfast at 8am, lunch at 12pm, and dinner at 7pm. When he gets up from his afternoon nap at 4/4:30pm, he has a sippy cup with expressed milk and some graham crackers. I love this new routine and it's fun to have snack time together. It's amazing to watch the little person that Will is becoming. We thank God for him and all the other wonderful things He has brought to us in the last 5 years together.

PS- little side note: Will's 3rd tooth finally came in today. It's taken 3 months for him to get more teeth after the first two came in February :)
