Highchair

This week Will recieved his high chair from Grandpa and Grandma Hanschen. He's sitting on top of the world now, and enjoys his new bird's eye view of the kitchen and his doggies. He likes being eye level with other people, and I like not having to sit on the floor to feed him! He started eating veggies this week. He loves the sweet potatoes and ate a whole stage one container plus his cereal during supper yesterday and Monday. He has also had squash, which didn't meet with the same rave reviews!
Today we went to the neurology sub-specialty clinic at Balboa so Will could have his flat spot checked out. His pediatrician was a little worried about it and thought we should have a consult. They are putting in a referral for physical therapy, which they think will do the trick since he's not even 6 months yet. The PT will involve neck exercises because he favors his left side. The neurologist thought that he would have success with the PT because his development is right on track; he's rolling over tummy to back, back to tummy, and sitting by himself. All these things will keep him from staying too long in one position. They also suggested sewing a tennis ball (we're using a pair of Jered's socks rolled into a ball) onto a onesie for when he's sleeping to keep him off his left side. I told her how we had tried rolled up blankets and sleep positioners, and she agreed that they don't work with such a big baby--he just smashes them underneath him or moves them around because he's pretty mobile. We'll update again on his progress after we start the PT.
